Manuel Guariguata

Manuel heads CIFOR's research domain on Production Forests and is particularly interested in management and silviculture for multiple forest use. Before joining CIFOR's headquarters in Indonesia, he was based at CATIE, Costa Rica where he also worked as a Professor on Conservation Biology in the Graduate Program. Manuel also served as Environmental Affairs Officer at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity where his main role was to facilitate intergovernmental deliberations on forest biodiversity, and climate change.
